Can we have a “Symbolic Wedding Ceremony” ?

Yes you can.

A symbolic wedding ceremony is an alternative to a traditional or religious ceremony. Therefore we do not have to stick to convention, and your ceremony will be just the way you want it.   Whether it is a wedding or renewal of your vows ceremony, it will be tailored to your personal wishes and beliefs, and can have religious content or not.

A symbolic wedding ceremony is everything a traditional wedding ceremony is, but without the legal stuff.

Who has a Symbolic Wedding Ceremony ?

  • Anyone who wants a beautiful wedding ceremony
  • People who are already legally married that want a wedding ceremony
  • Same-sex weddings
  • Couples renewing wedding vows
  • Couples in a mixed faith marriage
  • People who want to choose the location and time of the ceremony without restrictions.
  • Anyone who wants control over their wedding ceremony.

What is a “SPECIAL ELEMENT”

This is the fun part of your ceremony where we get to make your day even more memorable. “Special Elements” offer couples from different cultural backgrounds the opportunity to have an element of their heritage included in their ceremony.

Take a look at the “Special Elements” section.

I am happy to explain them in more detail and how they will fit into your ceremony.

When can we get married in Cyprus ?

Cyprus is an all year round destination so you can have your wedding any time.

With a Cyprus Celebrant led ceremony we can hold your ceremony almost anywhere. Hotels, Restaurants, Beaches, Vineyard, Marina, Golf Course, Private Villa, Ancient Abbey, Your Home.

All you have to do is picture your perfect day and I will do my best to make it happen.

How long does it take to plan a wedding?

That all depends on you. Some couples decide years ahead on their wedding date and venue, and others just a few weeks ahead. If you need help, I have wedding planners on hand who can help organise everything for you.

I’m regularly contacted by couples who want to elope, or for many reasons want to have a ceremony quickly. I always do my best to accommodate and help you to make your day amazing.

Will you travel to our venue ?

In Cyprus

Yes. I include all travel within 40 miles, including the rehearsal, from my location in Kyrenia. I am happy to travel throughout Cyprus.

Internationally

For international weddings all costs will be agreed prior to booking your ceremony with me. Please contact me Cyprus Celebrant at rosie@cypruscelebrant.com

What if you are sick on the day of my ceremony ?

This has never happened. Your ceremony will be complete and written by me.  I would call on one of my colleagues to seamlessly step in and read and perform what you and I have created together.

How and when do we pay ?

You pay after we meet and you decide to book me, whether that is in person, or on Zoom or WhatsApp.  I send you an email with all the details.

Deposit to save the date.

You pay a 50% booking deposit as a retainer, this secures the date for your ceremony.  That way you have the security of knowing I have saved that date for you and I will be there !

Balance

The remaining 50% is paid when you have the draft of your ceremony script and it’s almost complete. Then I start building your story, editing along with you, and reaching out to your friends and family.

What about a wedding ceremony rehearsal ?

I recommend and encourage a rehearsal – that’s why it’s included in my Deluxe Full Ceremony. The bigger your wedding party the more important a rehearsal.

By the time we arrive at the actual ceremony, it is particularly important that everyone knows what to do, and when to do it. This means less stress on the day and more time to enjoy yourselves.

What if our venue isn’t available.

If your venue is not available for a rehearsal, don’t fret! We just need a space where we can imagine a “front area” and practice walking down a mock aisle and standing in a line.

Smaller Weddings.

Small wedding parties don’t always need a rehearsal. I will do everything to ensure everyone is as relaxed as possible on your wedding day. A rehearsal – anywhere – goes a long way towards that.

Lets’s chat and decide what is right for you, so that you get the most from your wedding day

What do we need to do to get married in Cyprus ?

The law differs between areas on the island.  Therefore I will advise you of the legalities and requirements in the area you want to be married. The first thing you will need is a statutory declaration that you are free to marry, your passport, and birth, divorce certificates etc as appropriate.

I regularly work with couples who have legally married in their home country before coming to Cyprus. They attend their local registry office, where they have a 2+2 ceremony and complete the legal side quickly and easily. (Sometimes they don’t even tell their families). When couples are legally married when they come to Cyprus they can have their wedding ceremony at a location of their choosing.

Absolutely. Let’s speak so I can understand you, and your vision for your day. I’ll give you suggestions of locations that best suit you and your budget.

I have an address book of contacts from wedding planners, restaurants, hotels, and vendors who will help you in helping to make your dream a reality.

How to Stay cool in Cyprus in the heat

Memorials | Celebration of Life | Funerals | Baby naming | Proposals | Retirement Ceremonies

How long does it take to organise a funeral ceremony in Cyprus ? In Cyprus funeral ceremonies tend to take place very quickly within 3-7 days.

Memorial services and celebration of life ceremonies can take place at a later date, at a location of your choosing and at a time that allows your loved ones to travel to be with you. Often when someone dies abroad or lives between two countries a separate service is organised to commemorate their life and allow friends and family to gather to remember their loved one.

Baby naming | Adoption ceremonies. These are a fun and inclusive way of announcing the arrival of a new member of your family. These ceremonies often incorporate a unity element which makes them even more memorable.

Proposal | Engagement In many cultures a proposal or engagement is seen as important as a wedding. It can be a time when family and close friends will gather to acknowledge this momentous occasion. A ring warming element is often used in this ceremony.

Retirement Ceremony A wonderful way to acknowledge passing from your work life into retirement which is something many have been dreaming of for years. The perfect way to bring your friends, family and work colleagues together to share your life story so far and celebrate the transition.

Ceremonies for every aspect of life.
