Everything you need to know
Firstly – check if you meet the criteria for a legal marriage in North Cyprus.
Secondly – get all your paperwork in order.
Thirdly – have translations into Turkish done where necessary
Fourthly – make sure you have a minimum of 6 months on your passport
Foreign nationals* do not qualify to get legally married in Northern Cyprus unless they are residents.

You will need to submit the following documents:
Identification Card
Parents’ identification card copies
Certificate to prove there is no impediment to getting married.
A divorce certificate (If you have been divorced).
Copy of the Title Deed (If you own an immovable property)
Health report⠀
Foreign nationals who are legal residents may qualify to marry in Northern Cyprus.
However, if you or your fiancée, or both are foreign nationals, you will need to provide the following:
Valid Passport
Muhtar’s Certificate
Birth Certificate
Divorce certificate (If appropriate)
Certificate showing that there is no impediment to getting married, issued by the official authorities of the country of citizenship*
Health report
*If not previously married you may be exempt from submitting the Certificate of No Impediment. It’s normally issued by the official authorities in your country of origin. Alternatively, instruct a lawyer who will prepare a similar document which is valid for your application.
All documents must be translated into Turkish. They must be apostiled, or certified by the Turkish Cypriot representative office or Turkish Embassy in your country.

In conclusion, if you meet the criteria you can be legally married in Northern Cyprus (TRNC). However anyone can have a symbolic wedding ceremony. For those who have already completed the legals in their home country the process is simple. Best of all, when you have a blessing or symbolic ceremony, there is no need to meet the above criteria.

Traditionally, the wedding season runs from late April until Mid October. Most wedding ceremonies take place outdoors. We have very little rainfall during these months. However Cyprus is an all year round wedding destination because of the warm Mediterranean climate.
